The TPZ-Net Zigbee Wireless PIR Occupancy Sensors wirelessly monitor the occupancy levels of a space and transmit a digital signal over a Zigbee wireless network back to a TPZ-Net Co-ordinator. The co-ordinator will then transmit this information directly onto a BACnet MS/TP network. You can achieve self healing, mesh networking by adding TPZ-Net repeaters to the network.
Using passive infra-red technology the sensors will detect movement and transmit this state wirelessly using a frequency of 2.4GHz. The sensor is designed to detect full body movement up to 12m, limb movement up to 5m and the sensing angle is up to 110°.
The sensor will transmit an unoccupied signal after a delay timer has completed its cycle without any movement being detected. This timer can be set to 10, 15 or 30 minutes via the TPZ-Net PC commissioning software.
This particular model also incorporates a light level sensor. When the wireless occupancy sensor is reporting an occupied state the light level will be transmitted every 2 minutes or when a significant change of value occurs. This change of value figure and the level at which light level reporting can be inhibited is also editable via the PC Commissioning software. The light level sensor can be used to ensure that lighting is not switched on unnecessarily.
The occupancy sensor is rated at IP20 and as always we strongly recommend a site survey is carried out prior to installing any wireless sensors.
